Newton-le-Willows Autumn Photo Challenge 2023

Stacey Middleton

Stacey’s picture was taken on the Dingle recreation area in Earlestown at the beginning of Autumn. The October sunshine is just twinkling through the leaves of the tree and the grass has been freshly mown.

Paula Walker

This series of photos show Paula’s dog Betsy really enjoying her autumn walks at Mesnes Park!

Mary

Mary took a photo of this pretty seasonal planter on a sunny day outside the Wetherspoons pub near the Nine Arches.  With their lovely autumnal colours, Mary said “I just thought they looked so beautiful”… and we agree!

Steve Palmer

St Peter's Church in Newton by night

This stunning picture was taken by Steve on an evening walk by St Peter’s Church with his partner. What fantastic contrast between the light, the long shadows and the moody sky!

Gary Smith

Robin sitting in an autumn tree

Gary managed to get up close to this beautiful robin whilst out on a walk locally. He said the robin was happy to let him take its photo – he was so close he didn’t even need to zoom in!

Jacqueline Cooper

Picture of an autumn tree and an illuminated path

Jacqueline took this lovely nighttime shot whilst walking back from the Sankey Canal one autumn evening. Those beautiful red autumn leaves really stand out from the picture and the illuminated path looks so inviting!

Olivia Gomez-Aspron

Olivia took this selection of beautiful images around Newton-le-Willows – at Sankey Canal, in Winwick and Vulcan Village. Such beautiful sunrises and skies!

Brian Agger

Brian took this very atmospheric picture of St Peter’s Church on the 26 October – two days before the full moon. I think we can all agree the sky certainly adds plenty of drama to this lovely image!

Edyta Kijak

Paying close attention to the nature all around us really pays off when it comes to finding little autumn gems like this mushroom, captured on camera by Edyta! She stumbled across this beauty while walking at Lyme and Wood Country Park.

Mark McDermott

Mark’s view down Newton High Street shows St Peter’s Church at the top, positively glowing in the autumn sunshine!

Brian Shields

Brian Shields Lyme and Woods

This picture was taken by Brian Shields on a walk in Lyme and Wood Park. It really has it all – the beautiful autumn colours and light, the fallen leaves and the gorgeous symmetry of reflection. A simply stunning picture!

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in the Autumn Photo Challenge so far!
