If you love gardening and don’t mind getting your hands dirty… then why not volunteer to get growing at Newton’s Community Garden?
There’s lots to be done in the garden, at Newton Community Centre on Park Road South. There are veggies to be grown and planters to be made! If you love gardening, why not give some of your time to help out?
Not only will you be getting outdoors and meeting new people, you’ll also be helping your community, too.
That’s because the idea is to grow fruit and veg that can be used in the community cafe, or given to people locally – and to create garden boxes which can be distributed to homes in Newton-le-Willows to spread even more joy!
If you would like to get involved, contact Lisa Hulme at Newton Community Centre – email email@example.com.
About Newton Community Garden
The Community Garden was developed to create a space for all the community to use, especially those who were feeling lonely or isolated. It is a welcoming outdoor space to relax in – and the volunteer gardeners play a huge part in this!
Not long ago the garden was just grass and no more, but with a lot of hard work, and some kind donations, it has already been transformed into a place where people can sit and spend time, meeting new people and getting involved in growing vegetables and herbs.
Now the team at the Community Centre hope to be able to introduce more raised beds and create a team of ‘Garden Heroes’ to help. If that could be you – get in touch today!
