Kate Hendry, a Newton-le-Willows-based pet industry branding expert, is celebrating after receiving recognition from former Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis for the second time.
Earlier this year, Kate met with the small business champion at his annual Small Business Sunday (#SBS) event at the ICC in Birmingham after her pet industry creative agency, Finbo Studio, was selected as one of his winners.
This marks her second #SBS win, having first been recognised two years ago for her previous business, Finbo Illustrations, a British wildlife-themed giftware brand, which is currently stocked at Kenyon Hall Farm in Warrington.
Kate said: “To have Theo’s recognition for a second time is incredible. SBS is a fantastic community that I’m proud to be part of. I’m passionate about helping small and medium-sized pet businesses with branding and design that gets them seen and helps them grow. But it’s also really special to see my own brand being recognised in this way.”
About Small Business Sunday (#SBS)
Founded by Theo Paphitis in 2010, Small Business Sunday (#SBS) was created to give small businesses a boost by sharing their social media pages with his followers. Now in its 15th year, the #SBS community has grown to over 4,000 members, with winners gaining exclusive access to networking opportunities, events, and a dedicated profile on the SBS website.
Theo, 66, who is Chairman of Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas, and Boux Avenue, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support small businesses in the UK. My vision is that every #SBS winner becomes part of a friendly club, a community of like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website also gives valuable exposure to the winners, and I wish Kate and Finbo Studio every success.”
How to get involved
Small business owners can enter #SBS by posting about their business on X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, or Instagram between 5pm and 7.30pm every Sunday, using the hashtag #SBS. Each week, six winners are chosen and announced on Monday at 8pm, gaining access to the #SBS network and an invite to the annual networking event.
