Newton-le-Willows Library will host the launch of a new children’s book on Monday, 2 December 2024, featuring local author Brian Agger and his debut work, “Counting Christmas Trees.”
The book, illustrated by local artist Rachel Sutherland, is set in Newton-le-Willows and follows the story of a family’s annual Christmas tradition. The narrative centers on a family – parents, their daughter Jasmine, and their dog Daisy – as they explore the town, counting Christmas trees.
Sutherland’s illustrations incorporate Newton-le-Willows landmarks alongside seasonal imagery, creating a really festive picture book that will really resonate with young children locally.
The launch event, from 4-5pm, is a chance for you to pick up a copy of the book amd meet the author. It’s a free event and no pre-booking is required.
Supported by St Helens Libraries and St Helens Borough Council, the event forms part of ongoing efforts to promote local creative talent and encourage reading within the community.
For more information about library events, residents can follow St Helens Libraries on social media or visit the library’s website.
