Newton Storm ARLFC launches Masters Rugby League sessions

There are also sessions for young children, too.

Newton Storm ARLFC has launched two new Masters Rugby League teams, one for men and one for women, with regular sessions now under way at Newton Sports Club in Newton-le-Willows.

Training takes place on Fridays from 7pm, followed by the chance to head into the club to watch the rugby together afterwards. It is a sociable, low-pressure way to get involved in the game, whether you played years ago and fancy a return, or have never picked up a rugby ball before.

Masters Rugby League is open to men aged 35+ and women aged 30+, with both male and female teams welcoming players of all fitness levels and abilities. The emphasis is firmly on having fun, staying active and being part of a supportive team, rather than anything too serious.

Sessions are held at Newton Sports Club, Crow Lane East, Newton-le-Willows, WA12 9XE. Anyone interested in joining in is welcome to just turn up on a Friday evening, or get in touch with Newton Storm ARLFC beforehand for more details.

Cubs Rugby at Newton Storm

Newton Storm also run Cubs Rugby sessions for younger children – a great way for little ones to discover the sport in a fun and supportive environment.

Sessions are aimed at children in Reception and Year 1, and take place on Saturday mornings at 11.15am. Each session runs for 45 minutes and is led by Storm coaches at Newton Sports Club, Crow Lane East, Newton-le-Willows, WA12 9XE.
