If you’ve ever wondered whether you’ll have a good giggle and make some lifelong friends at the Viaduct Violets WI meetings in Newton-le-Willows, then we think these photos answer those questions!
The ladies had an absolute blast at their recent ‘Day at the Races’ themed meeting… as you can see, there were lots of laughs and fun along the way!
And, like any good WI, the ladies also stopped to enjoy some delicious bakes – this time with the delightful addition of strawberries, scones, jam and cream.
Their monthly raffle was this month themed around books, with the winners picking up a mystery wrapped up read to enjoy over the summer.
If you’re interested to know more about Viaduct Violets WI, why not go along to one of their future meetings?
This friendly group of women meet at 7.15pm on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Cross Lane United Church.
The group have different speakers every month, covering a wide range of subjects, and many of the sessions involve ‘hands on’ activities to get you trying something new!
There’s no formal meeting in August, but instead the members will be enjoying a Summer Club and picnic with a quiz.
They’ll be back on Tuesday, 16 September, when their meeting has a ‘speed dating’ theme, with a romance-themed raffle.
The Viaduct Violets also arrange trips and outings to various places throughout the year – a chance to enjoy new experiences and visit different places with your fellow WI members.
Visitors are welcome to join the group to sample the WI experience – you can join up to three sessions before you decide if you want to join or not. So come along for just £4!
