A warm welcome is guaranteed this winter at Newton Community Centre, thanks to a very generous donation.
The Rotary Club of Newton le Willows has recently gifted £1,000 towards a new boiler for the centre, ensuring this much-loved space can continue to offer a year-round haven for all those who use it.
Newton Community Centre has been serving our town for 38 years, acting as a true hub of connection and care. Last year alone it welcomed 214,000 visits, supported by 54 incredible volunteers whose ages span from just weeks old to 92-years-old. With 42 weekly classes and groups ranging from dance and Tai Chi to employability support, craft clubs, children’s activities, and befriending initiatives, Newton Community Centre offers something for everyone.
Beyond classes, the Centre also provides vital services like Citizens Advice drop-ins, a Dementia Café, and children’s summer playschemes, alongside regular community events. None of this would be possible without the dedication of its trustees, volunteers, and the generosity of local supporters.
Rotary is proud to play its part in supporting this incredible community asset, and we hope this story highlights both the importance of the Centre and the difference local organisations can make when we come together.
