This group of young gardeners have brought months of pleasure to the residents of Heald Farm Court in Newton-le-Willows.
The young people, from Business for Youth’s Junior Gardening Club, put their green fingers to good used planting up lots of pots to delight the residents of this Extra Care development for over 55s.
Having learnt lots of gardening skills through the club, which allows them to learn the basics of horticulture, including growing their own veg, the group are no strangers to brightening up the local area with blooms.
They also have their fingers in the souil in Earlestown, where they have helped fill the town centre baskets with blooms, and also work alongside the Newton Veterans Association to keep the town’s Garden of Remembrance looking lovely too.
We’re sure the residents of Heald Farm Court will really enjoy the displays once these tubs and baskets bloom – and that should continue long into October, until at least the first frosts.
Well done to all the young people, and the volunteers of BFY who have once again delivered a brilliant cross-generational project that has put smiles on the faces of everyone involved!
