Young gardeners work their magic on garden of relection

by Gemma Melling

Well done to this group of young gardeners, who’ve been getting stuck in to get a very special garden ready for spring.

The young people from the Business for Youth Junior Gardening Club have been helping the Newton & District Veterans tend the garden of reflection in Earlestown.

Last year, they planted out spring bulbs which are now coming through, ready to deliver a stunning display in a few week’s time.

And this week they were out again, weeding and tidying and getting the garden looking its best.

The memorial bench in the garden of reflection is also due to be repaired soon, so the area will be a lovely space for anyone wanting to spend some time in the coming  months.
We look forward to seeing the garden once those bulbs are in full bloom!

There are still some spaces left in the group for this coming year. They will start their regular meetings from April. Contact Business for Youth for more information.
